Take the Spiritual Gifts Assessment to identify your God-given gifts.
Before moving on to the assessment page, please take a few minutes to read through the material below. It will help you understand what spiritual gifts are and how the assessment works.
A spiritual gift is a God-given ability that you are to use to glorify God and serve others. There are four key passages in the New Testament that describe spiritual gifts:
Before taking the Spiritual Gifts Assessment you may want to take a few minutes to read through each of these passages to become familiar with the types of spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible.
A spiritual gift is not the same thing as a natural talent. While natural talents are God-given, their purpose is to benefit others on primarily a natural level.
Examples of natural talents: being intelligent, musically inclined, and a good basketball player.
Examples of spiritual gifts: faith, mercy, teaching, and healing. Spiritual gifts are God-given and used to benefit others on the natural and supernatural level.
Here is an overview of what 1 Corinthians tells us about spiritual gifts:
At Pathway we have developed common language to help us identify and unify around the various 19 spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible. The three categories listed below are adapted from the work of Dr. Robert Clinton and Dr. Jon Thompson.
Administration, Helps, Mercy, Giving
Love Gifts manifest the love of God in practical ways.
Prophecy, Tongues, Interpretation, Faith, Discernment, Healing, Miracles, Wisdom/Knowledge
Power Gifts demonstrate the power, presence, and reality of God.
Teaching, Exhortation, Apostleship, Leadership, Shepherding, Evangelism
Word Gifts clarify the nature, action, and purposes of God.
While all of the spiritual gifts are supernatural by definition because they come from God, some operate more in the supernatural realm than others. For example, spiritual gifts like teaching or administration seem normal to us while gifts like prophecy or miracles in the four passages above is still active today and that is why we test for them in the assessment.
All of the spiritual gifts including the ones that may be foreign to you bring glory to God. Some of you may come from church backgrounds that will cause you to raise an eyebrow at some of the questions that are asked and that’s OK. Regarding the more spiritual gifts, if you come across a question that seems weird to you, simply put a 0 for that question and move on to the next.
At the end of the assessment, your top gifts will be clearly identified. You’ll instantly receive an email with a private link to your results, and you’ll also have the option to download and save a PDF copy.
